British Education and Support Trust (a.k.a Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage)

The British Education and Support Trust (BEST) is a UK-registered charity founded in 1992 as the “Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage.” The US Embassy in London has identified this organisation as “the London branch of the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHS),” a Kuwaiti NGO designated by the US Treasury Department in 2008 as a terrorist entity for “providing financial and material support to al-Qaeda and al-Qaeda affiliates.”

In 2010, BEST received funds of over £1.5 million from Zakat House, a Kuwaiti governmental charity which was an inaugural member of the Union of Good, a coalition of charities established to raise funds for the terror group Hamas . In addition, BEST was given almost £20,000 by the International Islamic Charitable Organisation, another Kuwaiti charity accused of supporting terrorism. The Global Muslim Brotherhood Watch publication notes that as late as 2008, the IICO branch in the USA was registered to the same address in Virginia as the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), an important part of the US Muslim Brotherhood. IICO board members include the ‘spiritual leader’ of the Muslim Brotherhood, Yusuf Qaradawi, who, in 2009, expressed gratitude for Hitler having “managed to put Jews in their place . . . Allah willing, the next time will be at the hand of the (Muslim) believers.”
