The conference was supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, which is funded by the British Government.

The Progressive Youth Organisation is described in the Lebanese media as an affiliate of the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP)^[2], which is led by the anti-Jewish politician Wali Jumblatt. The Middle East Intelligence Bulletin describes the Progressive Youth as “clearly subservient to Jumblatt and functions as a recruitment vehicle for the PSP”^[3]. The PSP has launched suicide bombing attacks against Israelis in South Lebanon^[4]. Jamblatt has recently pledged support for Hezbollah, the Lebanese terror group^[5].

In 1984, the Progressive Youth Organisation released a joint statement with the Syrian Social Nationalist Party^[6], a far-right group whose flag is a swastika. The SSNP is run by fundamentalist Christians and founded in 1932, the same year that the Nazi party won 230 seats in the Reichstag, the SSNP is one of the oldest fascist parties in the Middle East, and – as The Atlantic has noted – the group pays frequent homage to the 1930s European Nazism^[7].

In a 2003 interview, Jumblatt expressed hatred for Jews and the West, and claimed the African-American former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was “oil-coloured” (emphasis added):

“Walid Jumblatt lashed out Sunday against Western politicians and ‘the Jews,’ calling on Arab leaders to hold popular referendums before allowing in foreign troops for a war against Iraq. The Progressive Socialist Party leader also said he felt ‘great joy’ at Saturday’s destruction of the United States space shuttle Columbia, because it carried an Israeli astronaut who had taken part in aggression against ‘Lebanon and Iraq.’ ‘The true axis of evil that rules the world today is an axis of oil and Jews,’ Jumblatt said at his family home of Mukhtara, Chouf. The oil axis is present in most of the U.S. administration, beginning with its president, vice-president and top advisers, including (Condoleezza) Rice, who is oil-colored, while the axis of Jews is present with Paul Wolfowitz, the leading hawk who is inciting (America) to occupy and destroy Iraq,’ he continued.^[8]

In 2004, Jumblatt praised suicide bombings against Israeli civilians:

“Yesterday, the Palestinian mother Reem Al-Riyashi sacrificed herself, and by so doing joined the columns of the brave Jihad warriors and broke the atrocious and troublesome Arab silence, the helplessness, and the retreat that precede failure and disintegration. She offered hope in a sea of complacency, indecisiveness, and fear. It is a new Intifada. It is the Intifada of the revolutionary Palestinian woman and of the land, opposing the ‘Jewification’ [of Palestine], the Jewish reality, and the Arab regimes. Did it come out of despair? No, and again no. It is an act of belief and it is the correct path, because the fall of one Jew, whether soldier or civilian, is a great accomplishment in times of decline, subservience, and submissiveness, as a way to undermine the plan to ‘Jewify’ all of Palestine. I say ‘Jew’ and I apologize to the Lebanese intellectuals, or at least some of them, who welcomed the Geneva initiative, applauded it, and considered it an historical solution to the Middle East conflict. They play word games [and differentiate] between Jew and Israeli, between Right and Left, and between doves and hawks.”^[9]

A charity ball organized by the University of St. Andrew’s Jewish Society, guarded by plain-clothes police officers, was held in secret last month after threats were made against staff at the original venue. The increasing security and secrecy surrounding this annual student event is an illustration of the sentiments aimed at Jewish students in Scotland.

The ball was originally supposed to be held at the Golf Hotel in St. Andrews, a small University town on the east coast of Scotland. After a campaign organized by the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, a number of threats were directed at the hotel’s staff, and a number of violent comments were posted on social media, with one protester writing: “Friday we send them into hell.”

The Golf Hotel cancelled the event over “safety concerns.” One member of the Jewish student society said that the decision to cancel the event was “pathetic…. They [the Golf Hotel] had no right to violate their part of the contract. The Golf Hotel is scared of them. A victory does not come from bullying people into submission, it comes from engaging people and opening their minds.”

Although activists from the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign [SPSC] were able to pressure the hotel into cancelling the charity ball, it was held secretly at another location, and raised over three times the amount of money for its nominated charities.

The SPSC offers a free book to all new members: Shlomo Sand’s The Invention of the Jewish People – a book the central argument of which is that the Jewish people, as a single collectivity, do not exist. Last year, the group also protested in support of a student at St. Andrews, Paul Donnachie, who was charged and found guilty of racially abusing a Jewish student.

In 2006, the SPSC commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day by performing a reading of “Perdition,” a play that claims the Holocaust was a joint venture between Zionists and Nazis. In 2009, the group commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day by running an event with Azzam Tamimi, a spokesperson for the terror group Hamas. And in 2010, the group reproduced the winning entry from Iran’s offensive Holocaust cartoon competition of 2006.

Senior SPSC member John Wight has previously promoted a website called the “Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust.” Wight has said: “As soon as the scales fall from the eyes of international Jewry with regard to the racist and fascist ideology that is Zionism, the world will begin to emerge from the iron heel of war and brutality in the Middle East.”

Similarly, Edinburgh PSC chair Mike Napier has referenced a number of neo-Nazi websites in an article thatvindicated the murder of eight Jewish students at a religious school in Jerusalem, on the grounds that the school is “the main educational and training centre of the fanatical Israeli settler movement,” and that the students are taught to regard Gentiles as cattle and to use Arabs for “medical experiments” and to send “Arabs to the gas chambers.”

The “We are all Hana Shalabi Network” also supported the protest against the St. Andrews Jewish Society. This group campaigns in support of Hana Shalabi, a member of the Palestinian terror group Islamic Jihad. In 2012, Shalabi visited Tehran as part of a delegation from the Islamic Jihad movement. In front of the Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei, Shalabi spoke of her commitment to “jihad and resistance” and praised the Iranian revolution in 1979 as the “beginning of a new era.”

Across Scotland, Jewish students regard the line between anti-Israel activism and anti-Jewish incitement as wearing dangerously thin. Several months ago, a number of Jewish students the University of Edinburghabandoned their courses because of the “toxic atmosphere” on campus.

Moreover, the University of Glasgow is a participant in a European Union-funded program, “Lifelong Learning in Palestine,” in which the Islamic University of Gaza is one of the main beneficiaries. The Islamic University of Gaza is the “the brain trust and engine room of Hamas,” the Palestinian terror group that rules Gaza. In 2008, Hamas was using the University to build explosives and rockets for use against Israeli civilians.

In 2011, security guards had to step in to protect Arab-Israeli diplomat Ishmael Khaldi at the University of Edinburgh, after a student mob surrounded him while screaming ”Viva, Viva Palestina.”

Increasingly, Jewish students’ choice over which university to attend is influenced by the potency of anti-Israel sentiment. The Scottish Council of Jewish Communities has reported a rise in the number of inquiries from parents and potential students in the US and Europe about the safety of Jewish students.

In 2011, the British ambassador to Israel, Matthew Gould, claimed that the image of Universities being “hotbeds of anti-Israel sentiment” was false. University authorities also downplay the extent of the campus extremism. Last month, Baroness Warsi, the Minister of State for Faith and Communities, and Nicola Dandridge, the head of Universities UK, both claimed that the problem of university extremism is greatly exaggerated. The facts, as we have seen, tell a rather different story.

The greatest obstacle to tackling anti-Jewish incitement is the denial that there is any such problem.

- Support for the far-right EDL

- Support for unity between Nigel Farage and BNP leader Nick Griffin

Stand for Peace fellow Colin Cortbus commented, “Politicians like Eric Kitson are bringing the politics of racial hatred back onto our streets.”

This would be a legitimate viewpoint were it not for Stop the War’s deafening silence over Assad’s murder of 70,000 Syrians over the past few years. Just a few weeks ago, German claimed the use of chemical weapons by Assad’s forces against civilians was a conspiracy “aimed at permanently weakening Iran and its allies.” German has previously backed the “right” of Russia and China to oppose UN resolutions that censure the Syrian regime.

In her latest piece, German wrote:

The bombing of Syria by Israel yesterday hit up to 12 targets near the capital, Damascus. It cannot be seen as anything other than an act of war against another country. It is clearly illegal under international law.

…

The background to the attack is increasing talk about Syria using chemical weapons and of the need for the ‘international community’ to intervene on this pretext. There are also signs that the government forces and Hezbollah are both making gains in the civil war … and this is making Israel act pre-emptively to strengthen the opposition.

Israel’s leaders are quick to preach about democracy but they are increasing the number of Jewish settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem driving Palestinians off their land on a daily basis. Its aim in intervening in Syria is to weaken its government and hit at Iran and Hezbollah.

All of the rhetoric employed aims to paint the Syrian regime, and its patron Iran, as the victims of Western aggression. Meanwhile, the tens of thousands murdered and the millions made refugees by the Iran-Syrian alliance find no sympathy or support from this prominent ‘anti-war’ group.

Stop the War has a long history of supporting Iran and its allies, Syria and Hezbollah. At the Stop the War conference in 2007, one of the speakers was “Somaye Zadeh of Campaign Iran”, who “tried to counter the imperialist lies [about Iran].”

Somayeh Zadeh, whose real name is Somaye Bagherzadeh, is a vocal supporter of the Iranian regime. She regularly attends the Iranian-organised Al Quds March.

Zadeh has defended Iran’s murder of homosexuals on the grounds that Iran’s homosexuals are not harassed and are free as long as they undergo a sex change. She is a representative of CASMII, which Stand for Peace has revealed to maintain extremely close links to the Iranian regime.

CASMII works closely with Stop the War.

In 2005, Stop the War told a group of Iranian refugees that Stop the War “can not allow any statement against the Islamic regime in Iran from the platform.”  In 2007, Stop the War published a piece praising Iranian President Ahmadinejad, written by far-Right activist Paul Craig Roberts, who claims Jews exert disproportionate influence within finance and the media. Stop the War, which portrays itself as a ‘coalition’, repeatedly refused to allow anti-Iranian regime group Hands Off the People of Iran to affiliate.  Stop the War official Andrew Burgin stated, “There are supporters of Ahmadinejad who we do not want to exclude.”

The campaign group has lost support from its former Muslim Brotherhood allies, who now oppose the Assad regime. In January, when Stop the War organised a demonstration ”against intervention in Iran and Syria”, the speakers were all representatives from far-left groups. The usual Islamist organisations were conspicuously absent.

Gilad Atzmon is a musician and political activist. He calls himself an ”ex-Jew” and is notorious for his extreme antisemitic views. He is already widely shunned, even on the far Left.

Jewish lobbies certainly do not hold back when it comes to pressuring states, world leaders and even super powers. AIPAC’s behavior last week reminded me of the Jewish declaration of war against Nazi Germany in 1933.

Not many people are aware that in March 1933, long before Hitler became the undisputed leader of Germany and began restricting the rights of German Jews, the American Jewish Congress announced a massive protest at Madison Square Gardens and called for an American boycott of German goods.

We must begin to take the accusation that the Jewish people are trying to control the world very seriously…. American Jewry makes any debate on whether the ‘Protocols of the elder of Zion’ are an authentic document or rather a forgery irrelevant. American Jews do try to control the world, by proxy. So far they are doing pretty well for themselves at least.

The Protocols is widely considered a forgery. It is a manual for a prospective new member of the “Elders”, describing how they will run the world through control of the media and finance, replacing the traditional social order with one based on mass manipulation. Though the book is considered a hoax by most experts and regarded as a vile anti-Semitic text, it is impossible to ignore its prophetic qualities and its capacity to describe both the century unfolding and the political reality in which we live.

Jews caused the Credit Crunch

As well as Director of Studies, Winter has an office in Cambridge University’s Divinity Faculty, where he is the Shaykh Zayed Lecturer of Islamic Studies.

Several years ago, when asked about radicalism within the Muslim community, Winter replied:

“The principle reason, which Whitehall cannot admit, is that people are incensed by foreign policy. Iraq is a smoking ruin in the Iranian orbit. Those who are from a Muslim background are disgusted by the hypocrisy. It was never about WMD. It was about oil, about Israel and evangelical christianity in the White House.

Winter claims the videos were filmed 15 years ago, although there are some videos on YouTube appearing to be from a similar retreat in Turkey in 2011.

Khomeini was the leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, one of the World’s most hardline and bellicose regimes.

In his book, Islamic Government, Khomeini expressed his hatred for Jews. The book is based on a series of lectures Khomeini gave in 1969 on what an Islamic government should be. Khomeini wrote:

“Since its inception, the Islamic government was afflicted with the Jews when they started their counter-activity by distorting the reputation of Islam, by assaulting it and by slandering. This has continued to our present day.”

In 1989, Khomeini issued a religious edict (fatwa) ordering Muslims to kill the British author, Salman Rushdie, for his novel, ‘The Satanic Verses,’ which he considered blasphemous to Islam.

Khomeini ensured Iran became the brutal regime it is today, one that has persecuted its Arab and Bahai minorities, encouraged hatred against Jews, sponsored terrorism abroad and executed its own people for ‘un-Islamic’ activity.

It is all the more worrying, then, that British Islamist groups seek to venerate him. It is not, however, surprising. The Islamic Centre of England is well-known for its support for the Iranian regime. Its head, Ayatollah Moezi (who has been announced as a speaker at the conference) describes himself as the personal representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Personal representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and so an official of the despotic Iranian regime. Moezi is a trustee of the Irshad Trust, a charitable organisation that runs a religious school in London called Hawza Ilmiyya. Both the Irshad Trust and the Islamic Centre of England were established in 1996. In 2006, The Times reported that students at the religious school were being taught fundamentalist doctrines which describe nonMuslims as “filth”. Other texts studied included a chapter on jihad, setting down the conditions under which Muslims are supposed to fight Jews and Christians.

Dr Saeed Shehabi

Runs the London-based Bahrain Freedom Movement, which seeks to topple the Bahraini ruling family. Bahrain was a British Protectorate from 1861 until 1971. Yet Iran believes it should own Bahrain because the majority of Bahrain’s population is Shia — and refers to it as “the 14th province”. In 2011, an investigation by the Evening Standard uncovered that the offices in which Shehabi worked were owned by the Iranian regime.

When he started working there in the Nineties it was owned by Proudrose Ltd. Records show Proudrose’s mortgage was lent by the Iranian government and one of its directors, Dr Ali Helmi, is the cultural attaché at the Iranian Embassy in London.

Dr Shehabi has also praised the 1979 Iranian revolution in speeches at a Maida Vale mosque run by the “Supreme Spiritual Leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran”.

Massoud Shadjareh

Massoud Shadjareh is chair of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, an extremist group that has voiced support for terrorist organisations. The IHRC is known for inviting speakers with violently anti-Semitic views. In 2010, the IHRC provided a platform to Ibrahim Zakzaky, head of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria. Zakzaky has described Jews as “the lowest of creatures on earth…sons of monkeys and pigs”.

Shadjareh has previously attacked the decision of SOAS to withdraw an invitation to French Holocaust Denier Roger Garaudy, claiming: “This is another example of certain freedoms being available to one community over others. It is no wonder Muslims the world over are becoming alienated from these so-called universal rights.”

In 1994, Shadjareh spoke on a platform in Trafalgar Square draped with a banner which read, ‘Death To The Enemies Of Islam’. In a briefing on the Lebanon crisis, the Shadjareh’s IHRC has called upon British Muslims to provide the terror group Hezbollah with ‘financial, logistical and informational support’.

Under Shadjareh, the IHRC also organises the annual Al Quds Day March in London, in which crowds chant,  “We are all Hezbollah”, “with blood, with guns, we will free Palestine”.

Shaykh Ahmed Haneef

Haneef is an extremist preacher, who often presents shows on Iranian regime-funded television channel, Press TV. Left wing journalist Nick Cohen describes Press TV as “a platform for the full fascist conspiracy theory of supernatural Jewish power”. Press TV was banned from broadcasting in the UK after it showed film of forced confessions of political prisoners in Iran.

Haneef has presented a number of shows for Press TV on ‘anti-Semitism’, in which he and his guest claimed anti-Semitism was not a real form of bigotry against Jews, and, as a term, is utilised for political means. It is even, Haneef’s guest claims – to no objection from Haneef,  a result of “Jewish hegemony” and incidents of Jews supposedly committing acts of “genocide” against non-Jews.

Further, the programme’s guest claims Jews are driven by a sense of supremacy and selfishness. Interrupting, Haneef says that there are some people who act in a selfish way “who are not even Jewish!” The guest responds that such people do not do so based on a religious text, unlike the Jews.

Jabir Chandoo

Jabir Chandoo is a hate preacher who frequently express anti-Semitic and pro-terror sentiment. In 2005, he wrote that just before the invasion of Iraq, “Muslim lands in the northern part of the country were being purchased by the Jews. The Zionist objective to realize the Jewish biblical dream of expansion from the Nile to the Euphrates was once again underway.”

Chandoo encourages violence, stating, “The reason behind such poor state of the Muslims today is because they have forsaken the element of ‘Jihad’.”

Asad Jafri

Syed Asad Jafri is a mullah who mixes Khomeinist ideas with messages of anti-Semitism. In one speech, while discussing the “infidel”, Jafri praised the terrorist group Hezbollah’s attack on Israel, saying:

“And if that’s not enough for you, that’s too far in history, come to the summer of 2006, a small group of Shias in Southern Lebanon [i.e. Hezbollah terrorists], holding the flag of Husayn, defeated the Yazid of today [reference to Israel and the USA].

Qatar media quoted Sheikh Qaradawi as saying that “after the announcement of the expansion of the conference to be a dialogue between Muslims, Christians and Jews, I decided not to participate in it so as not to sit with Jews on a single platform, as long as the Jews are usurping Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque and destroying homes of God, and as long as the question of Palestine hung not been resolved.”

Ken Livingstone, the former Mayor of London, has long been a friend of the extremist cleric, inviting him twice to London on official visits. Peter Tatchell, the renowned gay rights campaigner, has noted:

Qaradawi preaches a right-wing agenda of misogyny, anti-Semitism and homophobia. He does not respect human rights.

In defiance of the Geneva Conventions and every humanitarian instinct, he has justified the taking of civilian hostages and the suicide bombing of innocent civilians. Expressing anti-Semitism worthy of Adolf Hitler, he urges: “Destroy the usurper Jews”. He does not say destroy Jewish settlers and soldiers oppressing Palestinians, but destroy “the” Jews – all of them.

Qaradawi also sanctions domestic violence against disobedient wives; blames rape victims who do not dress with sufficient modesty; and supports the barbaric practice of female genital mutilation (which involves cutting the clitoris of young girls; denying them full sexual pleasure in later life).

Qaradawi’s anti-humanitarian views are a matter of public record on BBC Monitoring, Al Jazeera and Qatar TV, the Al- Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper – and in his own books, such as Modern Fatwas.

Livingstone has since defended Qaradawi and the invitations.

“Qaradawi called for peoples across the world to give blood when you had 9/11. Blood to help the victims. But he’s not prepared to ignore the plight of the Palestinian people. And any people’s whose land is occupied will fight back. Any people who are under attack will fight back. We would have done it. We did it in World War Two. We sent our young men behind German lines, in order to destroy the greatest evil humanity had faced. And we can’t deny the Palestinian people – it’s a waste of our breath – telling the Palestinian people they shouldn’t resist!”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has also told investigators that he and his brother taught themselves to build bombs by reading the instructions in Inspire, an online, English-language magazine that terror monitoring groups say al Qaeda began publishing in 2010, under the Anwar Al-Awlaki, the late Al Qaeda leader.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the elder of the Boston bombing suspects — killed in a shoot-out with Boston police — subscribed to a UK-based YouTube channel called Allah is the One, run by an organisation called the Merciful Servant.

While there is not the slightest shred of evidence to suggest that these British Islamists had any knowledge or involvement with the Boston Bombers, as with the Inspire Magazine, it is clear their preaching and messages are a powerful tool in the process of radicalisation.

Merciful Servant’s channel includes footage of Zakir Naik, the Islamist hate-preacher banned from Britain, who is on the advisory board of the Islamic Education and Research Academy (iERA).  Videos on the Merciful Servant’s site included sermons by Hamza Tzortzis, a senior figure at the iERA.

The Merciful Servant has a business address on the same floor in the same building as the iERA; both organisations, however, deny that they are linked.

Allah is the One previously displayed a jihadi warrior as its logo. Following the explosions in Boston, however, this was replaced with an image of a dove. Further, it has made some of its videos private. Stand for Peace, however, has screenshots of the videos, now removed, displayed by the channel:

Merciful Servant is run by Hasan Sarwar, who lives in Highbury, north London. Registered to the same address is the charity Darul Khidmah Wal Falah, which in 2008 was given £18,000 by the Muslim Educational Trust, which produces pamphlets on a range of Islamic issues which, among other things, have advocated the death penalty for homosexuality. Both organisations share several trustees. One such trustee  is Ghulam Sarwar, a relation of Hasan Sarwar, and an alleged Jamaat-e-Islami leader who is accused of involvement in the 1971 genocide in Bangladesh.

Although Hasan Sarwar’s organisation claims to be separate from the iERA, aside from sharing the same floor in the same building, the organisation’s YouTube channel includes videos of a number of preachers from the iERA.

The iERA tours hate preachers around Britain. It is an extreme Salafist group, which largely focuses on da’wah (proselytizing or preaching). Recently, its speakers have been banned from venues such as the University Conference London, Arsenal football stadium and the Sheraton Centre Hotel.

Three iERA speakers have been banned from entering Britain: Bilal Philips, described by the US an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 al-Qaeda attack on the World Trade Center; Zakir Naik, banned from the UK for saying that “every Muslim should be a terrorist;” and Hussein Yee, who openly preaches hatred against Jews, and claims that Jews in America were ‘happy’ when the Twin Towers fell. Hamza Tzortzis, whose lecturers were promoted by Merciful Servant, was formerly a trustee of Green Crescent, a British charity placed under investigation by the Charity Commission for links with Islamist terrorism. Crampton also claims:

Anna Maire Crampton has denied that her statements constitute anti-semtiism, writing:
